Hi, Iām Dottie!
Ā
Iām a wife, mom, grandma, and lifelong dance educator with over 40 years of teaching experience.Ā
A few years ago, my cardiologist husband shared research showing that learning dance steps is one of the most powerful ways older adults can support brain health. One 21-year study from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine even found that dance may reduce dementia risk more than any other form of exercise.
But traditional dance isnāt accessible for many seniors ā and thatās why Chair Tap DanceĀ® was born.
Iāve seen firsthand how this simple, seated form of tap dance boosts confidence, improves coordination, strengthens the body, and brings genuine joy. Itās amazing to see how a simple tap routine can light up a room!
Ā My mission is to share this exciting type of movement with as many people as possible ā at home, in classes, and in senior living communities.
Together, weāll have fun, exercise your brain and body, and get in Tip TAP Shape together!
