What Activity Directors are seeing in their Communities
“When I glance around the room, I now see smiles where there weren’t before.
With the help of Dottie’s program, my residents, most over 75, have learned everything from toe heels and shuffles to flaps and more — and they’ve even been inspired to purchase tap shoes.
The class has grown to 12–18 participants, and word is spreading because of how much fun it is.
Her video is so clear and easy to follow — it made it possible for me to bring this to our community.”
- Sheila D., Seabrook Senior Living
“Your videos are bringing such joy to my sassy seniors!
The activities committee is thrilled, and the residents are even working on costumes for a show. They encourage each other, and the energy in the room is amazing.”
- The Bent Tree Tappers
Why Dance Matters
for Older Adults
- Supports memory and cognitive engagement
- Encourages social interaction
- Improves coordination and mobility
- Combines music, rhythm, and movement
- Makes wellness enjoyable and engaging
Chair Tap Dance® brings these benefits into a safe,
seated format your community can use right away.
Optional Tap Shoe Covers or Tap Shoes
Taps add a fun, audible “tap” sound that many residents love—but they are not required to get started.
Some communities begin without them and add them later once residents are enjoying the program.
If you’d like to include tap covers (slip over their own shoes) or inexpensive tap shoe options, I provide simple ordering instructions and guidance to make it easy for your group.
